Came here for a quick bit before jingle ball and was pleasantly surprised! Despite being slammed, we were able to find two seats at the bar during happy hour and proceeded to take full advantage! We ordered the following. Potato Chips (with blue cheese fondue) 100/10 - chips were homemade and the blue cheese fondue was TO DIE FOR. I will think about this app for a long time! Black Truffle Arancini 6/10 - fried rice and cheese balls are never bad. These were okay, not my favorite though. I didn't find them super flavorful. Kale and Quinoa Salad 7/10 - a fresh, hardy salad! Nothing overly unique about it but it was tasty. Mussels 8/10 - a big bang for your buck! Mussels were fresh, flavorful, cooked well and there were a lot of them. Also came with a side of fries! 10/10 recommend for a happy hour or casual dining experience!

Just visited The Smith for the second time and could not be happier with the experience. Friendly hosts, and a server who took great care of us even though the restaurant was quite busy! As someone with allergy issues, I was so happy the kitchen took them seriously and flagged my entree to be prepared as I needed it. Delicious food, great adult beverages, and an environment that was cool, historic and beautiful. A+ from me and I'm a tough grader!! Will be back soon... Keep up the good work!

During a weekend trip to D.C., my friends and I decided to explore the holiday market and stumbled upon a nearby restaurant, perfectly located next to the market. We were all famished, and this spot came up as one of the top brunch options, so we decided to give it a try. As a group of six visiting on a weekend, we were prepared for a wait, but the attentive staff skillfully arranged a table for us, which was a pleasant surprise. The restaurant itself was beautifully decorated and even featured a charming photo booth near the restrooms, offering a fun photo opportunity with friends for just $5. We arrived around 1 PM and opted for brunch. Our meal started with complimentary bread and butter; the bread was delightfully moist and soft, though the butter was a bit firm to spread. I ordered the "Eggs + Griddle" option, which included a complimentary cocktail. Being a fan of breakfast sandwiches, I chose their offering, which featured black pepper bacon, egg, American cheese, avocado, and roasted tomato aioli on brioche buns, accompanied by home fries. The home fries, crisp and flavorful, were among the best I've had, and the handmade ketchup was a delightful touch. The sandwich was generously filled, and the aioli added a lovely acidity that complemented the richness of the bacon and egg. The accompanying mimosa was refreshingly made with freshly squeezed orange juice, enhancing the overall experience. This visit truly exceeded my expectations and has positively changed my perception of dining in D.C. I wouldn't hesitate to return for another meal.

Stopped by for an early lunch and it turned out to be an excellent choice. The food was absolutely fantastic, every dish we ordered for the table to share was a hit. From the flavorful starters to the perfectly cooked entrées, everything was fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. What really stood out, though, was the service. Our server was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our meal. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot to relax and refuel during our day out.

Visited on a Saturday night. They were full but not too crowded. Was seated promptly per my reservation time. The food here is good. Branzino - 5/5. Fish cooked perfectly. Red sauce with tomatoes & squash wonderfully complemented fish. A must try. Brussels sprouts - 3.5/5 wanted to like them more. Not bad but didn't wow me. Shoe string French fries. - 4/5 good. I took a bite of my friend's filet mignon. I could cut it with a butter knife. Super tender, full of flavor. Service was good. Atmosphere is upscale casual. I recommend you try them.

Our experience started off a little rough. They were seating folks (us included) before their dinner service started. It was that odd time were lunch was no longer being served, but some tables were still finished up; and dinner hadn't started, but people were being seated at tables. And I assume there was a shift change happening too. The host staff were taking drink orders, but not all drink orders. Some tables got menus, some didn't. Some had water, some didn't. And when our server started, she didn't know what was what. But that was no fault of her own. And we quickly got on track. Given it's location proximity, it feels like this spot draws a lot of tourists. Reservations are highly recommended. And it's a good option given the diversity of the menu. There's something for everyone. The blue cheese chips were so delicious. I could've just eaten those. My dining companion loved their chicken pot pie. My rigatoni vodka was...almost inedible. I am a HUGE pasta vodka lover. And I'm pretty much ever disappointed with however it is. But this one... It was so incredibly salty. Like, the salt shaker top fell off and just plummeted all into the vodka sauce. And I like salty. This was just so completely over the top and off-putting. I even had others try it to make sure I wasn't crazy. Nope, not crazy. Just some really bad pasta vodka. So avoid that dish! But other than the overly salty pasta vodka, the food was good, the service got good, the ambiance was pleasant. Not a bad spot. Would dine here again (but will NOT get the rigatoni vodka).

I've frequented the Smith DC more times than I can count and can say they have one of the absolute best burgers in DC! I typically order this just about every time with a few oysters to start my meal which are always very fresh! Back to the star of the show - the burger; it is always very juicy and packed with tons of flavor and please don't forget to add a side of bacon jam to top off the burger. I always ask for a small portion of ketchup to dip it in as well. I've never had any bad service any of the times I've visited and whether I'm sitting at the bar or a table, there typically isn't a wait time. I like to go during weekday lunch hour or early Brunch before it becomes too crowded and while seating is available. Parking can be a bit difficult to find but otherwise I like the location because it's walkable to other nearby places. Overall, it's a good brunch atmosphere to eat with family and friends.
